Dear Husband…

imageDear Husband,

I know God is instructing you to pray for me like He’s told me to pray for you. Just like I prayed for you in my single season, I will pray for you as your wife, spiritual partner, best friend, and mother of our children. As we remain content in our singleness, I’ll continue to allow God to mold me into a Proverbial 31 woman while He molds you into an Ephesians 5 man. I don’t know what God has called you to do but the calling that God has placed over my life is big. I believe that we will walk out our purpose, supporting each other every step of the way. You will lift me up when I am low and when you are falling, I will keep you afloat.

We shall SERVE and WORSHIP the Lord in all that we do. We will love God with all of heart, all of our soul, all of our strength, and all of our mind. We will both understand that loving and putting God above ALL things, will allow us to love one another the way God intends. I will submit and allow you to be the spiritual leader over our household. We will teach our children what it means to completely live for the Lord, for a house divided will not stand.

I have my moments and I’m sure you do too. In those “moments,” I’ll still love you. No relationship is perfect and we’ll have our days. During those not so fun days, I’ll be sure to remind myself of the vows we made. I’ll try to remember why we fell in love and why God answered the prayer we prayed. I’m a sucker for date nights and sending random, cute texts. In the spring, I’ll drag you to festivals and in the fall we’ll go on cute hikes. In the winter, you’ll be dragging me out the bed because the cold, I dislike.

When it’s time for us to cross paths, I pray that God gives us the discernment to know that I am your wife and you are my husband. We will court with God’s purpose and be thankful for the relationships that did not work.  Until we meet, I’ll leave you with an excerpt from one of my favorite books:

“Because, when you know that language, it’s easy to understand that someone in the world awaits you, whether it’s in the middle of the desert or in some great city. And when two such people encounter each other, and their eyes meet, the past and future become unimportant. There is only that moment, and the incredible certainty that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only. It is the hand that evokes love, and creates a twin soul for every person in the world. Without such love, one’s dreams would have no meaning.”

-Paolo Coelho “The Alchemist”

 Dear Husband,
When God instructs you to find me, you’ll be perfect for my mini me and I
…or maybe we’ve already crossed paths.
